Gas Turbine Stagnation Thermocouples and Harnesses

Stagnation thermocouples are designed to measure discharge temperature on gas turbines used as peaking units. Since temperature probes could not survive the extreme heat of the critical inlet temperature, common practice is to install sensors in the discharge air stream. Multiple thermocouples are mounted radially and have either single or dual measuring junctions. This allows for individual readings or and average of the readings may be taken.
